Who is Ertan Ikic?
When people ask me to introduce myself, I usually start with what I do. I am the Founder and CEO of Top Pick Recruiting LLC, a company I built with the simple idea of helping the right people find the right opportunities. But behind the job title, there’s a story of persistence, values, and a deep belief that people are the most important part of any business.
My Background
I grew up with a strong sense of responsibility and a drive to create something meaningful. From an early age, I understood that success doesn’t come overnight – it comes from discipline, patience, and a willingness to keep learning. This mindset has guided me through every challenge and decision I’ve faced.
Coming to the United States gave me the chance to put those values to work. It wasn’t always easy, but every step, whether forward or backward, became a valuable lesson. I realized that the biggest opportunities often come disguised as challenges.
I chose recruiting because it brings together two things I deeply care about: people and growth. Companies need talent to grow, and individuals need the right environment to thrive. Being a recruiter means being in the middle of that process – understanding people, connecting them, and making sure both sides benefit.
For me, recruiting is not just about filling a position. It’s about listening, recognizing potential, and creating relationships that last beyond a single placement. The greatest reward is when both the candidate and the company succeed together.
I believe in honesty, hard work, and long-term vision. I don’t chase quick wins – I build partnerships. Whether in business or in life, I’ve learned that relationships built on trust always outlast short-term gains.
I also believe in giving back. Sharing knowledge, mentoring, or simply being there for someone who needs advice – that’s what makes a professional community stronger.
